DAY 1 - Cross into Mexico and travel west over a divided highway and on to Saltillo, the mile high city. Continue to Torreon, a center for cotton farming. Overnight at the Hampton Inn in Torreon.

DAY 2 -After breakfast, sit back and listen to tales of Pancho Villa and his men, Los Dorados (the Golden Ones) as we head for Chihuahua. Tonight, relax and dream of your exciting ride tomorrow. Overnight at the Hotel San Francisco in Chihuahua. B

DAY 3 - Early morning we board the Chihuahua al Pacifico train for a spectacular ride. Don’t miss “el Lazo” a place where the train makes a 360 degree turn around itself as it passes through the mountain. What an engineering feat! Relax in your hotel lounge with your new found friends. Overnight at the Hotel Mirador in Posada Barrancas. L, D

DAY 4 - Visit the balancing rock and an original homestead. Watch a presentation by local Indian dancers as they perform typical dances of the Tarahumaras accompanied by a musician playing on a home made violin. Barter for hand-woven baskets or carved wooden dolls. Depart for Chihuahua by bus with a stop in Creel. Overnight at the Hotel San Francisco in Chihuahua. B, L

DAY 5 - City tour includes the Cathedral and the home of Pancho Villa, who led the troops of the Northern Division during the Revolutionary War. Depart Chihuahua traveling through Torreon to Parras, the Oasis of the Desert. Enjoy dinner before nodding off to dreamland in this serene setting. Overnight at the Rincon del Montero in Parras. D

DAY 6 - Parras is famous for their candies - they are to die for. Also they have the oldest winery in the Americas. Then it is homeward bound through Saltillo where you can buy Pan de Pulque. What a trip!! B
