DAY 1 - Begin your travels from the South Texas Plains through Wild Horse Desert to Kingsville and the fabled King Ranch – 835,000 acres of tamed mesquite and cactus. Take the 12 mile loop road through the Ranch with a step on guide well versed in the history and current operations of this working ranch. Enjoy a Texas Bar B Que at the Cesar Kleberg Camp House before visiting the Henrietta Memorial Museum. Continue to Corpus. Our hotel is just across the street from the bay. You may just want to relax and freshen up before our night time entertainment. Overnight at the Best Western Marina in Corpus Christi. L
DAY 2 - After an included breakfast, let’s go sight seeing down Shore Line Drive that eventually leads onto Padre Island. Look for Freddy Fender’s home with a swimming pool shaped like a guitar. Visit the USS Lexington, the oldest remaining aircraft carrier in the world. She was the only carrier to be painted a dark blue instead of a camouflage color. Nicknamed the Blue Ghost by the Japanese who were sure that they had sunk her on four different occasions only to find that she continued the fight. Plenty of time to explore. Then enjoy an included lunch before we begin our return to the Rio Grande Valley. B, L

*February 12 night time entertainment will be The Romeros – a family quartet entertaining us with classical guitar. The New York Times says “Collectively, they are the only classical guitar quartet of real stature in the world today; in fact, they virtually invented the format.” That the Three Tenors are to the world of opera, The Romeros are to the classical guitar.
**March 15 entertainment will be the United States Naval Academy Men’s Glee Club who have achieved national prominence as one of America’s premier men’s choral ensemles. They have had recent appearances on network television and have performed extensively throughout the world.
