Come experience the history and romance of Southern Louisiana life on the spicy side as we tour Cajun Country; re-discover the sights and sounds of New Orleans and drive through the heart of Southern Plantation Country. This tour also includes stops at worldclass gaming casinos en route.
DAY 1 – This tour begins with an early morning departure from the Valley; arriving late afternoon into the Coushatta Grand Casino. Overnight at the Coushatta Grand Inn inKinder, LA.
DAY 2 – Leave Lake Charles in the morning with all your winnings as we drive into the heart of Cajun Country to New Iberia, a city seasoned with famous factories, historic homesand lush gardens. Stroll down historic Main Street where we can find a number of restaurants ranging from Cajun and Creole dining to quaint sandwich shops. Tour the famous MCILHENNY CO producing Tabasco hot sauce. Tonight, for those of you still feeling a little lucky we are but a few minutes from Cypress Bayou Casino for another night of gaming possibilities. DAY 3- 4- After our included breakfast buffet we board our motorcoach and head on to New Orleans – “The Big Easy” – the sensuous city steeped in history, tradition, superstition and romance. A step-on guide will give us a city tour including an overview of some ofthe post Katrina sights, the historic French Quarter, the elegant Garden District and a visit to the above ground cemetery. Travel along the path of the St. Charles Ave. street car to the bustling central business and warehouse district. This evening you are on your own to enjoy dinner at one of the many traditional French Quarter cafes, soak up the music or try your luck at Harrah’s Casino. On our second morning, our motorcoach will take us to Mardi Gras World. See the carnival dens and this time of the year see the artists and sculptors create the world’s largest fleet of floats. DAY 5 – Leave the “Big Easy” and meander the Great River Road towards Baton Rouge. Tour two Louisiana Plantations for a taste of history and the old south. First stop is Laura’s Plantation that details 200 years of real life stories of owners, women, slaves and children of this sugar plantation. Built in 1805, this farmstead still surrounded by sugarcane, standswith 12 historic buildings, gardens and slave quarters. Our next stop is the Houmas House Plantation, the “Crown Jewel” of Louisiana’s River Road. Continuing on the River Roadand crossing the Mississippi River we will be stopping for lunch at “The Cabin.” The Cabin restaurant is said to be unique as it is “housed” in one of ten original slave dwellings of the Monroe Plantation. Continue on to the L’Auberge Du Lac Casino in Lake Charles, Louisiana. This Casino boasts 30,000 sq. ft. of the best gaming around; featuring over1600 slots and more than 60 table games. This luxury high rise hotel overlooks Lake Charlesand you can dine in any one of six fabulous restaurants on premise.
