DAY 1 – Fly to Norfolk on your own where a step on guide will give a narrated tour of the Virginia Beach area. Check in to your oceanfront hotel before departing for our included dinner. Overnight at The Courtyard by Marriott in Virginia Beach. D
DAY 2 - Today visit the US Naval Base where an actual sailor boards our coach. Then depart for Nauticus, an interactive Maritime & Naval Museum. Also visit the USS Wisconsin, the last and largest battleship built by the US Navy. Head back to our hotel with free time to enjoy our ocean front hotel and the boardwalk. Tonight enjoy a great selection of Farm to Table traditional foods of Virginia from Stuffed Port Chops, to Pecan Crusted Free Range Chicken Breast and more. Musical entertainment tonight is a tribute to “New Jersey Nights” with Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons. The lead singer performs wonderful versions of “Sherry,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry,” and much more including “Oh What A Night.” Overnight at The Courtyard by Marriott in Virginia Beach. B, D
DAY 3 - Today visit the MacArthur Memorial Museum. Then board the Spirit of Norfolk with a narrated luncheon cruise with entertainment. We will have spectacular skyline views of the mighty ships of the Navy’s Atlantic Fleet. Continue back to our hotel for free time. Tonight enjoy a candlelight seafood buffet at the Cavalier Hotel, whose oceanfront ballroom is where the Big Bands of the 30′s, 4o’s and 5o’s played on Saturday nights. DAY 4 - This morning we stop for a Taste of the Market tour. Hear the growers at the Farmers Market tell us first hand about the locally grown goods. Continue to the Virginia Aquarium and Marine Science Museum where we enjoy a wonder IMAX movie before exploring the Aquarium. This afternoon we arrive at the Virginia Beach Military Aviation Museum where hangars where we see more than 65 military aircraft from WWI and WWII. Then take bleacher seats for “Swingtime in the Skies Air Show.” Bob Hope, The Andrews Sisters and the entire Glenn Miller Band dressed in WWII uniform join us to watch the show. Once the Air Show ends everyone enjoy a Southern Style Cookout in the Hangar. There’s still more to come as we go to the Sandler Center Performance Hall for King Neptunes’s USO Show. Soon our entertainers take over and we enjoy a nostalgic “Thanks for the Memories” evening with the comedy of Bob Hope, the harmony of the incomparable Andrews Sister, and a 14 piece orchestra that is a tribute to the greatest military band of all time – The Glenn Miller AAF Band. This evening is truly a tribute to these performers who, more than any others, entertained America’s Troops while they served overseas. Overnight at The Courtyard by Marriott in Virginia Beach.
